What inspired The Way to Advaita art work?
The Way to Advaita represents the cyclic nature of awakening, enlightenment, and reincarnation. This is conveyed more effectively in the video artwork that accompanies this piece.
The Way to Advaita art work symbolises reincarnation; the transition of form, unfolding, awakening and evolving, before returning to its original state of formlessness once more. From the stillness in the silence of nothingness (space), the cycle repeats perpetually. Formlessness once again evolves, manifesting back into form. Once the purpose of being form has been fulfilled, it returns to the state of formlessness once more. This work is a visual representation of you, rediscovering who you truly are; remembering yourself as being projected outwardly from within yourself.
The cycle of spiritual awakening is a process and a cycle: You awaken, then you go back. You awaken again and you glean something, a deeper realisation, an inner understanding of your true nature, seeing the essence of your life force in all forms, a realisation that your essence is woven into the fabric of the universe. You gain peace, aliveness, vitality, presence. And then something happens – the density of form comes back. The dream of form comes back. You are overwhelmed by that again, and find yourself back in the dream of life; the illusion of time, and being in time. The illusion that you are a separate entity and everything is separate from you and everything else; going back deeper into being unawakened within the ‘dream of life’ once more.
